Hi! I'm Matthieu, the founder of Nuru Expeditions.

I'm a wildlife photographer. In 2025, I crossed Africa with my 4x4, an old Toyota Landcruiser. On this journey, I visited countless national parks and wildlife reserves and I was captivated by their beauty.

I remember vividly my first chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. There is something transcendental about being in the middle of the rainforest and hearing the rallying chant of a family of chimpanzees bursting through the silence and echoing in the valley.

In Zambia, my first encounter with a male leopard created long lasted memories as well. Unfazzed by our presence, he looked at me straight into the eyes, openingly reading in me like you would read an open book.

After connecting with many talented wildlife photographers and amazing guides, I decided to start Nuru Expeditions to share these experiences to other like-minded photographers.

While preparing those workshops, I adored finding the hidden gems in the countries I visited. Both in the lense of my photographer eye but also as a seasonned traveler. I went the extra mile to find the best lodges, the most knowledgeable guides and the purposeful activities.

All workshops are carefully curated experiences with photographers best interest in mind.
