Nuru Expeditions

Selina Betts

I am a German-South African conservation scientist, southern African safari guide, and walking trails guide. Alongside my wildlife adventures, I am also a keen wildlife photographer and illustrator.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I have since lived all over the world, including Germany, Australia, the United States, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Currently, I split my time between my home in the UK and South Africa.

I first started out in the art world, working as a toy designer after studying two fine art degrees (BFA) in Animation and Illustration, before changing careers to focus on wildlife conservation.

Fast forward to today: equipped with a BSc degree in Integrated Wildlife Conservation and my safari guiding qualifications, I am living, breathing, and working in my dream field.

Passionate and fond of photography, I’m not the most technical person, but I love capturing magical moments. My specialty is wildlife photography, because I take my shots first and foremost with my heart, as wildlife is one of my passions.

What fascinates me about wildlife photography is the opportunity to take the time to observe animals’ behavior, learn from every observation, and share these experiences.
